Propylene

Gaseous, unsaturated hydrocarbon. Basic chemical used mainly to manufacture the plastic material polypropylene.

Profit for the period

Profit after tax. In the case of a public limited company, the annual general meeting decides on appropriation of the profit for the period.

Provisions

Amount allocated to a company’s balance sheet as an anticipated expense which has been or will be incurred during the relevant accounting period (financial year), but does not lead to any payment during such period.
