Hydrotalcites for the Plastic Industry

Süd-Chemie started production of hydrotalcite in 1998. Our 150-years experience in the field of adsorbents and additives helped to establish Süd-Chemie as reliable partner in the polymer industry. After several plant expansions Süd-Chemie is a leading producer of hydrotalcites.

With the brand names SORBACID® und HYCITE® we serve the PVC and Polyolefin industry which use our products for stabilizing of PVC and Polyolefins.

Hydrotalcite is a Magnesium-Aluminium-Hydroxycarbonate which is produced by a complete synthetic procedure. The synthesis guarantees the high performance of SORBACID® und HYCITE® in polymers.

SORBACID® replaces heavy metal containing stabilizers and is applied in so called Ca/Zn-Systems replacing Pb and Sn compounds.

HYCITE® is used as an acid scavenger for Polyolefins, produced by Ziegler-Natta systems.
