At this location zeolite history goes back to 1966.

In 2006 the former company Tricat Zeolites GmbH in Bitterfeld was taken over by Süd-Chemie AG. This company was renamed into Süd-Chemie Zeolites GmbH. The brand ZeoSorb® has been established for a serie of adsorbents.

Molecular sieves are anorganic crystalline solids, which structure shows a consistent and well-defined porosity. Based on this structure molecular sieves have a very high surface area. Their hollows can have a diameter in size of a molecule.

Zeolites are special molecular sieves, which are constructed on a basis of so-called alumosilicat-structure. Zeolites exist in natural or in synthetic form.

Synthetic molecular sieves produced by Süd-Chemie Zeolites GmbH are characterized by their chemical purity and best fulfilled characteristics regarding customer needs. Manufacturing includes high temperature calcination, powder processing, beading and activation and other chemical and/or physical processing steps.

The zeolite-portfolio of Süd-Chemie Zeolites GmbH includes both adsorbents like zeolite LSX or 13X, and catalytic zeolites like different variants of ZMS-5, Mordenite and Beta.

Currently in literature are known more than 190 different zeolite-types and thousands of different molecular sieves, which are characterized by various pores systems and different chemical affinities.
