05/30/2008 - Professor Dr. Utz-Hellmuth Felcht elected Supervisory Board Chairman of Süd-Chemie AG

At today's meeting, which followed the Annual General Meeting, the Supervisory Board of Süd-Chemie AG, Munich, elected Professor Dr. Utz-Hellmuth Felcht (61), a partner in One Equity Partners Europe GmbH, as its new chairman. His deputy is Dr. Dolf Stockhausen (63), Managing Director of Dr. Dolf Stockhausen Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH.

At the preceding Annual General Meeting, Professor Dr. Felcht and Mr. Christopher von Hugo, Managing Partner of One Equity Partners Europe GmbH, were newly elected to the Supervisory Board. This Supervisory Board by-election was necessary due to the fact that for reasons of age, the previous Supervisory Board Chairman, Dr. Dietrich Schulz (75), had retired from the Supervisory Board as of the close of the Annual General Meeting. Furthermore, Professor Dr. Felcht's appointment to the Supervisory Board, which was approved by the register of companies at Munich Local Court at the request of Süd-Chemie AG's Supervisory Board and Managing Board, also expired at the close of the Annual General Meeting.

In addition to Professor Dr. Felcht (Chairman), Dr. Stockhausen (Deputy Chairman) and Mr. von Hugo, the Süd-Chemie AG Supervisory Board includes Mr. Christoph Giulini, Dr. Peter Schweighart and Mr. Konstantin Winterstein as shareholders' representatives. The employees are represented on the Supervisory Board by Mr. Johann Meier, Mr. Rainer Seufert and Mr. Peter Simon.

The Süd-Chemie AG Supervisory Board thanked Dr. Schulz for his many years as an active member of the board and acknowledged his great service to the company. Dr. Schulz had been a member of the Supervisory Board since 1977, holding the position of Chairman since 2006.
