12/20/2007 - Süd-Chemie and Vale Inco continue co-operation on diesel emission control catalysts through a modified structure

Süd-Chemie AG, Munich, a leading manufacturer of catalysts for the chemical and oil-refining industries and for environmental technology, and Vale Inco Limited (formerly CVRD Inco Limited), Toronto, Canada, a leading supplier of nickel and specialty nickel products, have decided to continue their co-operation for the production and distribution of diesel exhaust gas purification catalysts for the automotive industry, based on a modified structure.

As of December 19, 2007, Vale Inco‘s German subsidiary, Inco ECM GmbH, Sauerlach will be taking over the fifty-percent share in the German limited partnership Alantum GmbH & Co. KG, Sauerlach, such share being previously held by Süd-Chemie, and will continue to manage Alantum as its sole owner.

Süd-Chemie will continue the co-operation with Vale Inco by supplying Alantum with catalytic coatings for the base material (substrate) developed by Vale Inco and used in diesel emission control catalysts.
