Cash flow

 

A company’s net cash inflow generated from business operations.

Catalyst

 

Accelerates and controls chemical reactions by acting as a mediator.

Cathode material

 

Material for positive electrodes (cathodes) in batteries.

Chemical Index

 

Denotes the Prime Chemicals Performance Index, which includes the eleven major German chemical corporations in the Prime Standard.

Coal-to-liquid (CTL) process

 

Process for producing liquid fuel from coal. The coal is converted into synthesis gas, from which fuel is manufactured using socalled Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The process serves as a substitute for oil.

Process that uses organic binder systems to produce casting cores.

Corporate governance

 

Corporate governance comprises the whole system of managing and supervising a company; it includes the company's organization, principles and guidelines of business policy, as well as the entire system of internal and external mechanisms for controlling and supervision.

Cost of capital

 

Sum total of the return on capital required (both explicitly and implicitly) by providers of equity and borrowed capital. It represents the minimum amount which management must achieve by investing in suitable projects.

The right to buy or sell a certain amount of foreign currency at a pre-fixed price on a specific date or within a specific period.

Currency swap

 

An agreement between two parties to exchange different, predetermined interest payments in varying currencies within the period fixed under the agreement.
