11/22/2007 - Süd-Chemie renews contract with CFO Edgar Binnemann

Following a decision taken by the Supervisory Board of Süd-Chemie AG, Munich at its meeting on 14 September 2007 to reappoint the present CFO, Mr. Edgar Binnemann, 52, as a full member of the Managing Board, a contract running from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2013 has now been signed. Mr. Binnemann will continue to be responsible for Group Central Functions in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Patents and Licences, Legal Affairs and Purchasing.

Born in Bonn, Edgar Binnemann studied economics at the Cologne Academy of Administration and Commerce. Between 1976 and 1993, he held positions of responsibility in the areas of controlling, finance and accounting with Ford Werke AG, ITT and its successor companies, as well as with the Nokia Group, both in Germany and in other European countries.

Before joining Süd-Chemie in 2003, Mr. Binnemann was employed by the FAG Kugelfischer Group, being appointed General Group Executive in 1994. In 1999, he became a member of the Executive Board of FAG Industrial Bearings AG, as well as Chief Financial Officer of the Industrial Bearings and Services Division, which operates on a worldwide scale.
