The world-famous chemist Justus von Liebig was one of the founding shareholders in the Bavarian Public Limited Company for Chemical and Agrochemical Products (BAG), from which Süd-Chemie later emerged.

The Süd-Chemie plant in Moosburg. For almost 100 years, Süd-Chemie has been producing high-quality bleaching earth at its Moosburg site. Today, Süd-Chemie´s adsorbents and additives are used to refine products and processes in many different industries, including food-processing, foundries, packaging and detergent manufacture.

The Süd-Chemie plant in Heufeld. Süd-Chemie´s European catalysis center is located in the Upper Bavarian town of Heufeld. Now a state-of-the-art production site, the first chemical factory was built here almost 150 years ago.
