1. Prepare: We use advanced computer-controlled systems to rapidly evaluate literally hundreds of different formulas for each new catalyst. Our systems also measure and track every variable as formulas are tested. This (plus decades of chemical manufacturing know-how!) allows us to reproduce catalysts in high volume with high precision at any Süd-Chemie factory around the globe.

2. Characterize: It takes advanced surface science characterization to accurately define a new formulation—to tell exactly what makes it active, what makes it deactivate, etc. We use these characterizations to predict outcomes before testing, which allows our tests to be far more efficient and informative.

3. Test: Süd-Chemie's level of performance testing is very aggressive. It puts real reactive gas across the catalyst at numerous operating conditions, yielding a wealth of real-world data. We also utilize proprietary methods for accelerating deactivation, projecting lifetimes and interpreting results more intelligently.
