03/21/2006 - Süd-Chemie took over a majority stake in a Swiss producer of pharmaceutical packaging

Süd-Chemie AG, Munich, took over a 51% stake in Süd-Chemie Schweiz SA located in Broc, Fribourg/Switzerland. Joint venture partner is the Swiss company Plaspaq SA, Broc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PQH Holding SA, Fribourg/Switzerland.

Following the formation of Süd-Chemie Schweiz, Plaspaq transferred its pharmaceutical packaging division to this newly founded company. The transaction was so far subject to approval by the antitrust authorities and the closing.

The joint venture with the Swiss specialist in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical packaging completes Süd-Chemie’s existing good position in packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry in Europe.
