10/20/2005 - Süd-Chemie was given award by Sasol Synfuels

Thanks to its outstanding services, Süd-Chemie´s subsidiary company in Chloorkop/South Africa has been declared by Sasol Synfuels (Pty) Ltd., Johannesburg/ South Africa, as the second-best among its some 1,300 suppliers.

Süd-Chemie supplies Sasol Synfuels with catalysts for coal-to-liquids (CTL) systems. CTL processes gasify and liquefy coal to produce synthetic fuels and intermediate products used above all in the chemical and petro-chemical industry. As the world's coal reserves are much greater than the oil and gas reserves, coal gasification and liquefaction is becoming ever-more important. At Secunda/South Africa, Sasol Synfuels operates the largest commercial CTL plant in the world, with a capacity of more than 150,000 barrels per day.
