Industrial Off-Gas Treatment

Süd-Chemie has much more than one thousand references for catalytic emission-control in industrial applications.

Industrial off-gas often contains a wide diversity of chemical compounds. These are generally divided into volatile organic components (VOC) or (halogenated) hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOX, N2O and NH3) and sulphur compounds. At the same time, the elimination of odorous components is becoming increasingly important.

The economic benefit gained by saving energy and the reduction in material stress due to lower operating temperatures make catalytic emission control the first choice for many industrial plants. It is also an ideal way of upgrading existing thermal plants, as well as promoting the use of smaller heat exchangers which leads to more compact plants. Lower operating temperatures also offer an added advantage by effectively preventing the formation of thermal nitrogen compounds.
