The Municipal Division

The Municipal Division was established to market a wide range of chemicals and equipment to the drinking, wastewater and industrial effluent markets. The division specialises in flocculation and coagulation applications using its own Sudfloc range of products.

The Sudfloc range includes organic polyelectrolytes, inorganic salts of iron and aluminium, liquid, solid and gel polyacrylamides as well as a range of customised blended products. The division’s policy is to be a supplier of all chemicals required in the treatment process and to this end offers chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, activated carbon, bentonite and various other related chemicals. A full treatment regime is offered which includes flocculation, taste and odour removal, disinfection and colour removal.

The range of aluminium derivatives are produced at a Sud-Chemie plant in Pietermaritzburg, and we are the sole manufacturer of these in Africa.

The division’s technical sales and marketing team has more than one hundred years of combined experience in the industry and offers a full technical support that includes product screening, monitoring of plant trials, emergency assistance, plant personnel training and plant optimisation.

Working closely with the company’s engineering division, a comprehensive equipment service is provided that includes process design of small dosing systems through to full-scale plants. Drinking water customers include all major water boards, towns and cities, and in the industrial market the customer base includes tanneries, metal processors, food factories and paper mills.
