BENTONITES
Bentonites are inorganic binding agents for green sand moulding. Depending on their green and hot properties, on their mixing capacity and durability, we supply several qualities suitable for every kind of proccess:

CARBONACEOUS ADDITIVES
They create a reducing atmosphere cushion which avoids metal penetration in the pores of the mould, as well as metal surface oxidation. Volatiles crack and form lustrous carbon which increases mould refractoryness and avoids metal-mould reactions. For safety reasons and in order to reduce ignition and explosion risks, these products are supplied mixed with bentonite.

NOCOL 70/30S: datasheet

SLAG BINDERS
These volcanic minerals expand between 40%-80% when heated near its softening point. When added in the furnace or pouring laddle to grey iron, nodular iron or steel, it binds slags and forms an isolating layer, very easy to remove, thus clearing the molten iron and increasing refractory life.

EXAL FM (0,3-1,2mm): datasheet

EXAL MG (0,8-2,5mm): datasheet

AMILACEOUS ADDITIVES
These organic binders increase mould elasticity, avoiding mould cracks and edge breaking. They are also very effective again erosion and scabbing defects.

AMYLON: datasheet
