One main emphasis of the Strategic Research Department is put on the development of innovative electrode materials for lithium ion batteries. At present the following electrode materials for lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries are available from Süd-Chemie AG:

• Lithium mixed oxides LiNi1-xCoxO2

• 4 V spinell materials (doped LiMn2O4)
