That is why, for every catalyst we develop, we use ongoing product analyses and computer-based monitoring to track and document each step and nuance of the process. Only by doing this rigorously are we able to reproduce, to Süd-Chemie standards, a precisely identical product. No matter if that is in grams or tons. And no matter which of our worldwide factories is manufacturing it.
Our state-of-the-art pilot plant and commercial manufacturing facilities around the globe give us the ability to rapidly and smoothly scale-up from laboratory to pre-commercial to commercial production volumes. Also, we have decades of experience in all the special processes that are unique to catalyst manufacturing: precipitation, deposition, impregnation, decomposition, etc....
Some of these, such as precipitation, are complex, multi-step processes that are difficult to scale up. But Süd-Chemie has developed special tools and methodologies, such as a computer-controlled small-scale precipitation system that can precisely guide the scale-up to volume manufacturing.
